QIAOSHI – Hesco Concertainer used in Hurricane Katrina Aftermath
When Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, it caused a humanitarian disaster and triggered massive flooding throughout the city.
After Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers installed HESCO Concertainer to close a breach in the canal levee.
Crushed limestone, soil, and rip-rap was used as fill material, for the Concertainer units which provided the backbone strength in the levee core.

Concertainer-AUSA Exhibition – QiaoShi Gabion Barrier 6
AUSA Exhibition
25th - 27th Oct, Washington DC, USA
The 50th anniversary of the Association of the US Army's (AUSA) annual meeting was a great success for HESCO, who were there to say a big “thank you” to US servicemen who had used Concertainer.
The design of the stand was intended to look like a makeshift camp bar made from Concertainer, with flags, military memorabilia added to complete the authenticity. In addition to the bar, the stand also had a Harley Davidson Fat Boy on display - the first prize for the current photo competition.
Refreshments were served free to all who paid us a visit, and the bar was continually busy throughout the show with patrons ranging from PFC to 3 Star Generals.
The HESCO bar will re-open at next year’s event and we look forward to drinking a beer with you and hearing about your experiences of our product.
